A nature reserve, a spot of power and a source of awesome pics for your social media. ‘Stolby’ (posts) are rocks ‘growing’ from the earth. Particularly, magma petrified millions of years ago. Every rock took a whimsy shape, and that’s why it got the corresponding name. Here you will meet the rocks, which took the shape of
• Rooster and sparrow
• Monk and nun
• Vulture and wolf’s forehead
• Granddaughter, grandson, grandmother, grandfather, great-grandfather
And many more! In 1925, the park was granted the status of a specially protected area. Forest clearing and any economic activity are forbidden. That’s why you can meet bears here too. But most often squirrels, ground-squirrels, roe deer, hares, and taiga birds pick up on visitors’ photos.
‘Stolby’ occupies an area of 47 000 ha. It’s impossible to walk through the entire territory in one day but every visitor can pick one of six routes. They are indicated on the interactive park map including difficulty level and sights.
It’s convenient to get up the hill (the main entrance to the park is located right there) from Bobrovy Log using the elevator. Save your time and enjoy the beauty! Make sure to have insect repellents in the summer season. Sometimes cashless payments are impossible, that’s why it’s better to have the cash to buy souvenirs or water.
